Let the wedding-disaster dream hauntings being!

I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was burst out laughing at our redonkulous my dreams were. So far, I've been spared of wedding-disaster dreams but my brain thought last night was a good time to start...

I don't remember all the details or how the story line went. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know how detailed and crazy my dreams can get. Here are the elements of the crazy-dream I remember :
  • Maggie had cornrows in her hair.
  • Our marriage license was contained in a 3inch binder and the Officiant had to read through the whole thing before he would marry us.
  • There was a lady there selling jewelry and I noticed that she had a bracelet that my friend had mentioned she liked. I put everything on hold until I could get a hold of her and find out how many she wanted so I could get them for her.
  • A certain someone made a brief appearance and I have to say it'd been a while... I don't remember what he was doing there or if I even talked to him but I remember seeing his face as I tried to tear my eyes away from Maggie cornrows. However, I can confirm that he was a guest... so that's good progress, no!?
  • My gown was not my gown, my veil was not my veil and I decided to do my hair myself and when I looked into my bag I saw a hair straightener and a pink scrunchie.
I'm sure there is a much more elaborate story to tie it all together, but thankfully, my brain didn't think it was important to remember. Good call.

Crazy dreams - Sea animals and the end of the world

Last couple of weird dreams I had, I blamed the prescription medication. This time, too much sugar and wine might be the cause.

**Warning, very weird and disturbing dream ahead. I promise I'm not deranged.

So we'd borrowed some animals from Sea World, we kept them in a box until we had to return them for our amusement. Evil, I know. They were kind of weird too... one of them was a Sea Dog. It's was pretty much Nova with gills that looked a bit like an otter. So... anyways, for some reason I had to leave Moose Jaw and I was really upset but it would allow me to drop off the sea animals in Winnipeg on my way back to Ontario so I kinda had to do it. (?) So I left without telling anyone, boxed up Sea Dog in tow.

When I got to Sea World Winnipeg, the nice lady in a wet suit told me that we could only return sea animals on Sunday and being Thursday, I'd have to wait a couple days. So I slid down an ice structure to where I could find food and shelter for me and my sea dog for the next couple days. On the way, heard some cries for help so I stopped sliding because I'm magical like that and saw that some people had fallen over. So I found a piece of string and helped them out. The lady and her 2 daughters offered to take me and Sea Nova into their home until Sunday to thank me. Bad idea.

As we walked over to their home, I left Sea Nova at a Sea Kennel and got the weird feeling everyone was in a panic. I started looking around and everyone was preparing for the end of the world. Setting up shelters on the roof, packing up supplies and everyone was wearing rubber boots. The lady left her 2 daughters outside as they were begging her "not to do it again" and she said "well I have to show our guest so she knows!" and left them to play in the snow. The daughters are kinda strange and I stay behind to have a good look at them. They look like normal happy kids but they seem totally oblivious to everything that's happening around them. The youngest one looks like she's wearing pink play-handcuffs.

I walked into her house and it seemed pretty normal. There were too many knick-knacks for my taste but nothing I couldn't tolerate for a couple of days. Right in the middle of the place, there is what looks like a defibrillator machine but the paddles are hooked up to the ceiling. The woman then explains to me how she's discovered a source of electromagnetic energy (I blame Lost for this one!) that will save her and her daughters from the catastrophe. She says that sending shocks into her house will "shake off the water if there's a flood", "protect the home during earthquakes" and "will make it fireproof" somehow. She needs to show me what happens so I can be prepared in case she needs to set it off while I'm there. I assume that's what her daughters were warning her about before but don't make much of it.

She presses a button and the entire house lifts off it's foundation and starts to shake like a cell phone on vibrate. Everything stays in place, she explains, because everything's moving at the same time. She finally stops the machine and then runs outside.

I immediately see her oldest daughter laying limply in the front yard but she doesn't seem to notice. She is frantically looking for the youngest one who's nowhere to be found. I stand there, like stunned, staring at the oldest one in the snow. A stranger walks by on the street and yells "That girl looks dead!". I take a closer look and see he's right so I get the mom's attention but she doesn't seem to care - she's still looking for the young one. So the stranger-man picks up the lifeless little body and brings her to her mom and then the girl wakes up a bit and says something along the lines of "Why did you have to do it again?" - the mom doesn't seem to care and keeps asking about her younger sister. The weak girl lifts up her head and says "You can stop looking." and shows that she's wearing the handcuffs now and then passes out.

...then I woke up.

Undiscussable Weird Dreams

Maybe I'll make a small exception here.

You know the kind of dream that shows you how different your life could have been had you, say 10 years ago, made a life altering decision?
The kind of dream that brings back very vivid memories, clear voices and touch. The little things you didn't notice the first time around because you were trying to figure out your future and you had no idea how the present was important. When you can feel the touch of a hand in yours again.

It's the dream that makes you feel horrible about it when you wake up. The dream that lingers for a couple hours after you've woken up and throws off your entire day because it's just so out of the blue.

The deam that doesn't push the limits of reality enough to make you realize that it was all a dream. It makes you wonder : Was it a distance memory I've successfully forgotten over the years? There are lines that cannot be crossed, not anymore anyways and there are rules that are not meant to be broken, even in the most innocent dream...

That may or may not have been the kind of dream I won't talk about.

Weird dream - Living at a gas station

Yes, that's right. I had a weird dream last night where I lived at a gas station and I blame it all on the medication.

Pretty much, I was living in a hotel room attached to a gas station. I was trying to get some rest but people kept ringing the doorbell asking for directions. As soon as I got settled into bed someone came by to ask how to get somewhere. That went on for quite some time and I was getting frustrated.

Then some idiot left the door open too long and Jack ran outside. He almost got hit by a school bus. I ran outside to try and catch him but something caught my eye - the red car from Cars the movie was there and very intriguing for some reason.

Then I woke up.

Let the weird dreams begin...

I haven't really had any wedding related dreams... until last night. It was strange. So strange.

It was at the ceremony, not the reception and it was the rehearsal. All the guests were there and there were random people sitting in the first rows the parents usually sit. Yes, it was at my church from when I was little. We were sitting in the 3rd row just about because everywhere else was full.

The priest asked us to come up to the front and practice the "unity candle" thing... which... I really really really don't want. So as we walked up, I didn't want everyone to see me rip the priest a new one so I kinda whispered to him that we didn't ask for that. He told me that he'd ordered some special candles for us to use and didn't want them to go to waste... so we gave in. The said candles has a little Jesus head on the top... like right next to the wick. So when we burned them, the little head melted and it was kind of creepy. That was the slowest melting Jesus I've ever seen.

Then, we go back to standing at the front of the isle in front of everybody and the priest tells us that we have to stand on either side because we are blocking the view. I had to explain to people sitting in the first pew that they'd had to sit in the second one for the real ceremony because this is where our family will sit and they looked at me like I'd just melted a teeny wax Jesus... which I did. I think we must have secretly crawled out and no one noticed because next thing I knew, we were outside, behind the church trying to figure out how much it would cost us to rent some chairs.

It was weird to actually see it and even weirder to see Js and I give in to what the priest wanted. (Especially the creepy creepy melting saints!) It seemed like everything that was happening was exactly the opposite of what we said we wanted.

It might be this we're-leaving-soon-and-won't-be-here-to-do-any-of-the-planning fear looming over me. I'm sure it won't be the last weird dream, but for a first one, it was totally acceptable... especially because it ended with Js and I going back to doing exactly what we wanted! :) Go us!
